Bio

Cecil is the present Vassal of the Prophets. Cecil is the longest lived Vassal that the Prophets and was born blind, this was taken as a sign that he would not be subject to the physical impurity of the world and he became the most popular Vassal the Prophets have ever had. Due to his extreme purity his successor was destined to be even more pure and therefor a even greater hope too the Prophets. Cecil was a vehement advocate for physical purification and expansion in his younger days until he met and fell in love with a Ghoul named Alix. Cecil found Alix wandering the wastes searching for a place to settle down and make a home. Initially, Cecil had every intention of converting Alix, but as he grew to have feelings for Alix, he became more and more concerned for Alix’s safety during “The Purification.” Eventually the two of them became lovers and Cecil was torn between his concern for the safety of his lover and his beliefs that doomed Alix’s impure form to be forever tormented and doomed. Eventually Alix, concerned for Cecil’s inner turmoil and deep pain, undertook “The Purification,” without Cecil’s knowledge and died, as most ghouls did. After loosing Alix, who Cecil knew to be the most pure of spirit, compassionate, empathetic, and genuinely caring person he had ever met, he lost his blind passion and extreme faith in his doctrine. In his later life Cecil, acted as a mere figurehead, rarely leading excursions, only appearing in requisite official capacities to preach to his followers. As a leader he shifted to a more quiet and introverted voice, having not entirely lost his faith he was still accepted by his followers and still held his popularity, but largely left the day to day decisions to other church officials below him. His retreat from the public eye was taken as sign that he had achieved a high personal purity and must be deeply engrossed with his connection and devotion to God. Cecil’s second in command the Patriarch and Matriarch, Anders and Isabel.
